Conventional training courses can take between 6 and 9 months involving 120 to 180 hours of study. Many people simply cannot dedicate that much time, or money, to the task. This is especially true if the training program includes having to learn skills you do not need in order to get a certificate. With course fees of £350 - £600 per student (and rising) plus release costs and perhaps lost production, financial issues are significant.
Note:
New government legislation means that companies can design their own training programs and get them recognised as nationally recognised qualifications. Watch the press for details - probably during 2009.

For £200 you could have 7 hours of face to face contact for up to 3 staff.

When required, 1-3 people can participate in a training session for no extra charge.
